"Come to me you who are tired and worried, and I will give
you rest.  Work with and learn from me, for I am gentle and
kind and you will discover a peace in your soul beyond
anything you thought possible.  My requirements are easy
and the load you carry will be light.  Matthew 11:28-30 CWV

How simple, how soothing, to know Jesus is there waiting.  Ready to take our burden and give us rest from this weary life we live on this old sin filled earth.  How wonderful to know all we have to do is as He said, come to Him.  Cast our cares and sorrows upon Him
and He will give, note that word GIVE, us peace.  Not sell it to us, not make us fight for it, but GIVE.  It's ours for the taking.  All we must do is draw neigh to Him.  Come humbly and simply ask.  Just ask and it is ours.  Such peace, such joy, tranquility, human words cannot describe it.  A peace, a love that passeth all understanding.  But alas, despite its simplicity, some of the children are missing.  The most precious thing to God, all but ignores Him. Refuses to accept the offer he is making.  Oh father where are the children?  Why are they not here, sitting at your feet, waiting for the words of comfort and peace that only you can give.  What's keeping them?  When can we go home?

Simple questions, child like questions but we must tarry a bit longer, for there are others to come.  We must wait till all the children have had a chance to come home, the time to complete the journey.

"Wait my child.  Persevere, hold on, I'm coming to take you home.  But we must wait a bit longer,
till all the children are in."

But father some are not even starting to come, why can't I go on ahead on my own and you and the others catch up?

"For there are many perils that you cannot see.
That alone, you cannot endure or escape.
You must have me, I must lead the way."

But I live right, love my neighbor, keep your commandments and all that.  Why do I have to wait?  From the signs you have given us, it can't be that far away, just over the horizon.

"Because you keep my commandments and follow me,
the perils are even greater.
For the master of deceit has doubled his efforts to
snatch you without a moments notice.
To drag you into the depths of despair and torment.
For the time for  us to go home is very near,
and he is even harder for your very soul.
Be patient my child, till those who will heed my
voice have come.  Without me, you'll never make it.
I love you and want to keep you safe, but
we must wait a little longer and go together."

Well!  I don't see any danger!  How do I know you're telling the truth?  Maybe this whole thing is a hoax!  I'm going on without you, I can make it that far without ... !!??!!

"See, ... the moment you took your eyes off me he had you.  Creating doubt, showing you a "better way",
the very thing that cost him his position in my kingdom.
Trust me my child for I am the way,
 - the only way - you can make it."

How foolish I've been, please forgive me.  If ought for thee, where would I be?

"You are forgiven my child, now watch with me but a bit longer and we will be going home."

But master, the night falls, where are the rest of the children?

"Lost, ... my child, ... Lost."

 And again, … Jesus Wept.
