This tree is a perfect picture of what I see as being
"planted by the rivers of water..."

Look at the trunk... crooked, bruised from the storms that have beaten against it - its bark bleached from the sun, leaning, bent, yet reaching heavenward.  Still bearing beautiful green leaves, still providing shade and rest.  In its twisted form it has become a thing of beauty.  We admired its determination, its  persistence, its boldness ~ it is immovable.  Its wounds testify to the fact that it was not easy - but it has won each battle - it has held fast to the place where it was planted.   Beneath the ground - what we do not see - is the magnificent root system that kept it from yielding, no matter what was going on around it.  Roots so deep and so strong that nothing could remove it.

I want to be like that tree - immovable, unshakable, constant, faithful - rooted in the Word of God - reaching out to Him in praise and worship.
