Use Your Gift

I listened to a story this morning about a man who had hopes of becoming a missionary.  After meeting and spending time with some people who where already serving the Lord in this way he knew this was not his calling.  The Lord had however, given him a different gift.  He seemed to have an instinct about investment and the desire to use finances for good.  Because this man developed the gift he was given he was able to give millions of dollars to support missionaries around the world.  His giving allowed him to touch many more souls for Jesus Christ than he would ever have been able to do had he pursued his dreams of becoming a missionary himself.

Did you have a dream that has not been fulfilled?  Do you have a desire to touch souls for Jesus?  I believe that all of us who know Him personally have this desire.  Somewhere inside is that -  "I wish I could tell the world about Him." - feeling.  We can't all be missionaries.  We can't all go off to another continent, or country or city or even another house to preach the Word.  Some of us were given gifts in another area.  We may not have the gift of expressing ourselves in words but, without a doubt, the Lord has given us something we can do to help further the spread of His gospel.  We can support others who are able to speak or write to those who seek to hear the salvation message.

Our support may come through the giving of finances, providing needed items, performing a specific task, or intercessory prayer.  Working 'behind the scenes' may not always be as exciting, we may not be recognized for our efforts but we will be satisfied in knowing that we are using the gift He has given.  'Plant' the gift - it will multiply into saved souls.  You may not see it now - you may not have any idea of how many you touch - but let Father direct you and lead you and I can promise --- You will touch many for Him.

Lay your gift down at His feet and let Him show you how to use it for His glory.
